I had a quiet morning at home. I did take both dogs one by one on walks this morning. Both did their business and we came home.
The sidewalk guys were here early this morning. They finally got the Bobcat running and they finished up preparing the sidewalks for concrete. They are to be poured Monday. They are coming back tomorrow to get the back patio ready.
I went to Emporia around 11:00. I had a couple of things I wanted to get done and was hoping to get them done before exercise so I could get home quickly. As I was pulling out of the driveway, the sidewalk boss flagged me down. He asked if I could pay part of the remaining 50% I owe him so he could pay his crew. I told him I was going to town and I would stop and get some cash.
I went to town. I got stopped for construction for about 15 minutes as I was towards the front of the line. Once I got moving, I was able to go almost normal speeds so the drive to town only took the extra 15 minutes.
I went to Walgreens to drop off the heart monitor package to be returned via UPS. Found out they only take FedEx. I didn’t have enough time to go to CVS. The peaches from CO truck was here so I stopped and got a case of peaches. Ouch. They are expensive this year.
Went to exercise and had to wait 15 minutes for my trainer to come as I was early. Wasted my extra time but didn’t have enough time to go downtown.
While I was doing exercise my sidewalk guy called and asked where I was at and why I wasn’t home yet. I told him I had at least another hour or two in town and he said he would meet me in town then. Dang it anyways. I was doing him a favor and he gets like that!
After exercise I headed downtown. I stopped at CVS and dropped off the package. The UPS guy was there picking up packages. I’m not sure if mine went out today or not. There was no one at the front counter when I dropped it off as directed by a sign.
Then I went to the bank to get the cash for the sidewalk guy. It takes the bank about 15 minutes to release cash. I called the guy and told him where I was at and to come meet me there. I finally got the cash and didn’t see him. I went outside and he was across the street. I had to cross the street to give it to him. I gave him about 1/3 of the final payment.
I then went to Bobby D’s and had a salad for lunch. Service was better today and the salad was delicious and fresh.
Came home and was wiped out so I took a long nap. I doubt I need to go to bed tonight but it sure felt good to sleep good for a couple of hours. Going to town seems to drain me fast. Four hours in town is about three hours too much for me.
The only plans I have for tomorrow is to go to Pioneer Bluffs for music at 6:30. We shall see if I go. Going always sounds like fun until it is time to leave and then sometimes I can’t make myself go.
Next week looks like another quiet week with only exercise on my calendar. My trainer is going on vacation and will only be there Monday so there is a chance I will only have to go to town Monday. The guy that takes her place isn’t always reliable and often cancels class.
Feeling my energy levels starting to come back up after my long nap today. Wish I wouldn’t get so depleted going to town. It will help when the road construction is done and the trip to town isn’t so long. I’m grateful July is almost over. That makes me know that this heat wave will be over soon enough too. One more month of heat and then fall will start showing itself.
Grateful for fresh peaches from CO, grateful for long naps on hot days, and grateful the heart monitor is on its way home.
