Decided on a wedding cake today. I’m not sure I got a big enough one but will wait until it gets a bit closer and order another one once I have a better idea how many people are coming. The lady at the bakery told me how many it served and the size of the piece. It feels really too small to me.
We took a three and one-half mile walk today. It felt good to get out and stretch my legs. We went at 4:45 and didn’t get back until after the sunset. It was getting pretty cold before we got back.
Got the paperwork to reserve the church filled out and the check written for the deposit and fee they charge. The preacher is bending the rules a bit to accommodate us.
The photographer the preacher recommended can’t do the pictures. I think I will book the lady I found on-line. Jim is a bit shy about paying her fee but I really want good pictures and want a professional to take them.
I spent the afternoon looking for dresses on-line. I ordered two more from a different company. One is perhaps for Nicole’s wedding and the other might work for my wedding. The first two dresses I ordered haven’t shipped yet so have no idea when I might get them. I trust I can get the dress finalized soon. I will still need to get some shoes but can’t do that until I decide on the dress.
Last night Jim got a door hung in the bedroom for the bedroom closet. Tonight we are going to tear out some of the kitchen cabinets to make room for the dishwasher. We looked at Lowe’s today for a hood for the stove. We may go back and look for a combination microwave and hood. Jim was going to tear all the cabinets out and build new ones but has decided instead to paint what is there instead. That will save lots of time. We hope to have the back room and kitchen done before the wedding. That would be exciting if we can make that happen.
Anyone have a really good punch recipe? The one I usually use has cranberry juice in it and Jim doesn’t like cranberry juice.
My to do list is almost complete. I still need to decide if I want to order personalized napkins or not – probably won’t. I also need to decide if I want to carry a bouquet of flowers – probably won’t. We have flowers for the alter and the reception area already taken care of. I can’t make the mints this far in advance. I will pick up the nuts when it gets closer.
We are having a family dinner Saturday night before the wedding and we need to decide if we are going out or cooking at home. I am fixing a brunch for family Sunday morning at the house. Sunday night we will have pizza or something like that. We need to decide about Saturday night so we can reserve a table somewhere if we are going out.
I need to decide what to serve for the reception. I have a baker confirmed and will need to give her details when it gets closer and I know how many people are coming.
The bits and pieces seem to be coming together. I sure would feel better if I can find a dress. I may have to go to a store and try dresses on – yuck!
Grateful for a long walk today, grateful to get the wedding cake confirmed, and grateful my to do list is getting smaller and smaller.
