A quiet day at home – just the two of us at last. We have both enjoyed the day very much. Jim took a long hike this afternoon and cleaned out the garage and I took a long nap. Perfect way to spend a beautiful day.

I didn’t sleep well last night. I kept waking up and then having trouble going back to sleep. Wish I could sleep as well at night as I do during nap time.

The girls gave me 24 eggs today – a new record for them. Back to having four dozen in the refrigerator and almost another dozen in the egg basket on the counter. I think they like these bit warmer days. They might slow down next week as it is to get very cold again and hang around for a week or so. Hopefully this will be our last blast from Mr. Winter this year..

The title company got the paperwork to me this afternoon. I will have to call them Monday and make sure they are going to handle the closing of the property too. Everything looks good to go so far. We may be able to close the end of next week if the seller can be ready by then.

The Newsletter that I am going to work on will be delivered later this evening. The lady finally got hold of me today to let me know she had just gotten it back from the printer. That will give me a project for a day or two. I’m not sure what her deadline is and how many I will get to complete. I like doing that kind of thing and am pretty fast at it. Trust my sore shoulder will hold out and let me get my part done. Maybe it will be good for the shoulder to put it to work and not baby it like I have been.

I worked on the hot line last night and handled 8 calls in two hours. Had to get the supervisor involved in one suicide and one prank call. Was able to talk the suicide down and they were in a much better place at the end of the call. Had a few cutters, relationship breakups, suicidal thoughts and teen body issue calls. Regular type of night on the hot line. The two hours always goes by quickly though, especially when I handle two calls at once.

Since I took a long nap tonight I may get back on the hot line unless I work on the newsletter. We will see what my mood is and how things go.

We are having leftover beef soup tonight for dinner so that will be easy. Jim is so good about eating leftovers.

I ordered 25 pounds of hard white wheat berries and have a pan of them sprouting to feed to the chickens. If they grow as I want them to, I will start a new pan each day and be able to give the girls some fresh greens daily. It should take about a week to get them to be three or four inches high. I used to buy a head of lettuce to give them everyday but when lettuce prices went to over $1 a head I gave up that treat for them. Hopefully this will work and they can have a fresh greens treat daily and it won’t cost too much.

I got my Crisis Text Line hoodie today. They send everyone that volunteers for 200 hours one. It fits nicely and is warm. I will enjoy wearing it. When I handle 90 more calls I will get a backpack as my next reward. They set goals for us to level up and it is based on how many callers we handle. I am a level 6 and after 250 callers I move to a level 7 and get the back pack. 90 to go to meet that goal. My goal is to get to level 9 and receive a $500 gift card from Best Buy. That would be a sweet reward. I haven’t looked to see how many calls that will take though. They increase the number of calls each time you level up.

It is amazing how much we have both appreciated staying home today. We had a busy week for us with lots of trips to town and it was so nice to stay home all day. Neither one of us plan to leave the place all weekend. We will recharge and refill.

Grateful for a new egg record today, grateful the paperwork is proceeding quickly towards closing on a new property, and grateful for my new hoodie.
