It has been a cold, windy day on the prairie.  Got up and went into Emporia so I could get my hair cut.  I have had enough of trying to grow it out and went back to shorter hair.  Stopped at a bank to get cash to pay the housesitter and then went to Bluestem to get critter feed.  It was good to get back home on the prairie.

Made a double batch of Jim’s favorite oatmeal cookies.  Made one batch of mints for the wedding.  Jim helped me make the little round balls that I then smashed with a fork.  I’ll probably make a second batch tomorrow so I can have mints of two different colors.

We went down to do chicken chores.  That wind is cold!  Had two eggs that had frozen and cracked open and got one egg to bring up to the house.  It is too cold for them to be laying much right now.  They didn’t even come out to see if I brought treats for them – they stayed inside the coop.  I gave them some sunflower seeds inside as I didn’t blame them for not coming outside.

Ordered some hose from Amazon.  I needed a few other things to get free shipping so ordered a few things Jim had on his list.  I set them to arrive Tuesday in Oklahoma when we are back there.  I like that you get to choose your delivery day.

When I bought my new computer I got $250 worth of Best Buy credits that expire April 2.  I need to replace my double wall oven so went on the Best Buy site and found out they have free delivery and installation going on right now.  Jimhelped me measure the existing one so I knew what size to order.  I got one ordered.  They won’t deliver it until March 26 at my request.  I’ll be home that week as it is the week after the wedding on the 22nd.  Kathy will be here and I want to be in KS to spend time with her.  I think that is the last appliance that needs replaced.

I still need to make some ice cubes that I will use in the punch for the wedding but it is too early to do that.  Other than that I don’t think I have anything else I need to do for the wedding.  I’m so relieved I have found a dress that will work.  That takes alot of the stress off of me.

Jim is working on his slide project.  Not something I can help him with.  Glad he has something to work on here though.  We still need to get the deck project done but the weather is not right for that today.  Sure hoping we can get it done this spring.  I’m tired of having it on my to-do list.

I may go paint the laundry room.  I got the paint for it several weeks ago. I need something to do this afternoon.  I always feel better when I get something done during the day.

We are coming back to KS March 5 – 8.  I have an appointment to get my teeth cleaned at the Vo-Tech on the 5th.  It always feels good to come back to the prairie even if for only a few nights.

Tomorrow we have to go into Emporia early afternoon so we can watch Ellexia do her gymnastic thing.  Luckily two of her events are fairly close together so we will get to see her perform twice without having to hang out all day.  Sunday we are going to Manhattan for church.  Jim wants to check out the Presbyterian Church there.  Monday we have to go back to Stillwater.

We are almost down to five weeks from wedding day!  Wow!  Time is flying by.  Glad I have things under control and can coast the next few weeks.  It will be here before I know it.

Grateful to have short hair again, grateful cookies and mints are made, and grateful I have a warm house to stay in on this cold, winter day.
