Made it one mile on our morning walk.  Seems like such a small distance but it felt like a long distance!  My foot was cranky all night and morning.  Thinking it was the storm system that came through that activated it.  It might have been PT too as the therapist really worked my big toe and made it sore.  The walk helped it stretch out and feel better.  I iced my foot when I got back from the walk and it has quieted down and felt OK this afternoon.

Our trip to Asheville is still pending.  Not sure how to plan and what to plan for as we don’t have any idea when Jim might need to be there.  I’m hoping it won’t be for another week so I can go along but that feels a bit selfish of me to hope that.  Things will work out the best way for all what ever that may be.

Other than taking a walk today I have stayed in and worked on the tea towels.  I have about thirty minutes of work to go and I will finish the third set since surgery.  Good thing I have some knitting to do after I finish the tea towels.  Sitting and doing nothing is getting old!

Jim has taken good care of me.  I told him today I have felt a bit out of my comfort level having to have someone take care of me so much.  Luckily he seems to understand that.  I am almost back to being independent but it is still hard to do everything when I use both crutches.  I have switched to only using one crutch when I am in the house which frees my right hand up.  Being left handed that isn’t as much help as I would like but it is a step towards independence.  I still use both crutches when I go for my walk as it helps not put so much weight on my hurt foot.

Heard Strong City and the area got some very high winds last night.  I texted my house sitter and she reported I had no wind damage.  Good to hear that!  90 MPH wind was reported in the area.  Wow!  That is some strong wind.  Stillwater had lots of rain, lightning and thunder over night.  More rain is forecast for later tonight and into tomorrow.

Feeling a bit isolated from my friends and family.  It will be good to get back home and get out of this boot and off crutches and get back into “normal” life.  I’m tired of everything being a bit more challenging and harder than normal for me to do.  I’ll only have four weeks of freedom before I start this process all over with the other foot.

Have a ham loaf baking in the oven for dinner.  Jim is working on his front porch.  I sit on the couch and watch the hands of the clock slowing move.  And this time shall pass and things will get back to normal soon!

Grateful. I had no storm damage from the high winds last night, grateful for being able to walk a mile this morning, and grateful my foot is healing and I will be off crutches soon!
